Terms of Service

Vecti Tech Ltd ("we", "us", "our") Last updated: 16 May 2026 Effective date: 17 April 2026

These terms reflect Vecti's current launch scope, including accountant discovery and connected-accountant service flows where enabled.

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of the Vecti mobile application and web platform (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.

If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. About Vecti

Vecti is a tax operations application for self-employed people in the UK. The Service helps you:

  • Track income, expenses, and mileage
  • Create and send invoices
  • Manage clients and tax records
  • Calculate supported tax, National Insurance, and VAT estimates based on the data you enter
  • Use HMRC connection and filing features where those features are enabled in your version of the Service
  • Connect with your accountant, find accountants where marketplace discovery is enabled, and share records for collaboration

Vecti may expose accountant discovery and connected-accountant service flows where those paths are enabled, including accountant-set service descriptions, prices, Stripe Connect payment handling, order status, refunds, disputes, and reviews or ratings where supported.

Vecti is designed for supported self-employed and CIS-led users. It is not a limited-company accounts product, payroll product, landlord-only product, partnership product, or general bookkeeping product unless those scopes are explicitly added to the Service later.

3. Account registration

3.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and a UK taxpayer to use the Service.

3.2 Your responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information when you register
  • Keep your login details secure
  • Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised
  • You are responsible for activity on your account

3.3 One person, one account

Each account is for a single individual. Do not share your account or create multiple personal accounts without permission.

4. Subscription and billing

4.1 Pricing

Vecti is available on a subscription basis:

  • Monthly: £2.99 per month
  • Annual: £29.99 per year

Prices include VAT where applicable. We may change prices with reasonable notice.

4.2 Free features

Some features are available without a subscription. We may change which features require a subscription.

4.3 Payment processing

  • Mobile app: subscriptions are billed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store via RevenueCat. Apple and Google's payment terms apply.
  • Web checkout, where offered: subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Stripe's terms apply.
  • Accountant services, where offered: service payments are processed through Stripe and Stripe Connect. Stripe's terms apply to payment processing.

4.4 Renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. Renewal terms are shown at purchase by Vecti, Apple, Google, Stripe, or the relevant checkout provider. We will provide renewal reminders where required by law, app-store rules, or the payment provider's process.

4.5 Refunds

Your statutory consumer rights are not affected. Subscription refunds are handled by the relevant billing provider or by Vecti where web checkout is offered. Unless a refund is required by law, app-store policy, payment-provider policy, or a specific offer we make, subscription fees for an active billing period are not refunded after access to the paid Service has started.

5. HMRC submissions - your responsibility

5.1 Accuracy

You are responsible for the accuracy of all data you enter and all submissions made through Vecti. This includes:

  • Income and expense records
  • MTD quarterly updates
  • VAT returns

If your data is wrong, the calculations and submissions will be wrong.

5.2 Review before submission

You must review all calculations and submissions before confirming them. Once submitted to HMRC, returns may be difficult to amend.

5.3 Not financial advice

Vecti is a software tool, not an adviser. We do not provide financial, tax, or legal advice. If you are unsure about anything, consult a qualified accountant or tax adviser.

5.4 HMRC connection

When you connect your HMRC account to Vecti, you authorise us to submit supported returns on your behalf using HMRC APIs. You can disconnect at any time in your account settings.

6. Accountant discovery and connected services

Vecti lets you connect with your chosen accountant, find accountants where marketplace discovery is enabled, share records, and support accountant-led tax work.

Accountants are independent professionals. They are responsible for their own profile content, service descriptions, prices, professional advice, and work they agree to provide. Vecti provides software, connection, messaging, payment, and filing workflow support. Vecti does not provide tax, legal, or financial advice.

Where accountant service flows are enabled:

  • accountants may list services and prices
  • clients may pay for services through Vecti
  • payments and transfers are processed by Stripe and may be delayed, reversed, refunded, or blocked under Stripe's rules, dispute handling, compliance checks, or the service state shown in Vecti
  • HMRC filing work may trigger payment release or transfer only after the relevant HMRC-confirmed filing state is recorded, where that release mode applies
  • advisory or non-HMRC-confirmed work may use client confirmation, refund, cancellation, or dispute flows
  • Vecti may moderate or remove reviews, ratings, listings, messages, or attachments that are false, abusive, unlawful, or inconsistent with these terms

Vecti is not a bank, accountant, tax adviser, legal adviser, or escrow provider. Accountants receiving payments through Stripe must comply with Stripe's terms and any professional, tax, data protection, anti-money-laundering, and regulatory obligations that apply to their own business.

Disputes and refunds are handled through the in-product flow or support channels. Vecti may review order status, messages, attachments, payment records, and filing records when handling a dispute. This does not make Vecti responsible for the accountant's professional advice or for tax outcomes caused by inaccurate records, missed information, accountant acts or omissions, or HMRC decisions.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Enter false or misleading data with intent to file fraudulent returns
  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the application
  • Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the Service
  • Resell or redistribute access to the Service
  • Upload malicious files or content
  • Impersonate another person or entity

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms.

8. Intellectual property

8.1 Our IP

Vecti, including its design, code, branding, and content, is owned by Vecti Tech Ltd. You may not copy, modify, or distribute it except as allowed by law.

8.2 Your data

You own your data. We do not claim ownership of the financial records, invoices, or other content you create in Vecti. See our Privacy Policy and Data Export Policy for how you can access and export your data.

Some records may need to be retained after account deletion or account access changes where required or justified for tax, VAT, payment, accountant-service, dispute, security, legal, regulatory, or audit reasons. The Privacy Policy and Data Deletion Policy explain this in more detail.

9. Limitation of liability

9.1 Availability and accuracy

We will provide the Service with reasonable care and skill. We make reasonable efforts to keep the Service accurate, reliable, and available. However, we do not guarantee:

  • uninterrupted availability
  • error-free calculations in every possible tax scenario
  • that HMRC will accept every submission without issue
  • that the Service will meet every specific need you have

9.2 What we are not liable for

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vecti Tech Ltd is not liable for:

  • losses arising from inaccurate data you entered
  • penalties or interest from HMRC resulting from late or incorrect submissions
  • losses arising from advice or services provided by any accountant you choose to work with
  • loss of business, profits, or data beyond the data stored in our systems
  • indirect or consequential losses

9.3 Cap on liability

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or the Service is limited to the greater of:

  • the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or
  • £100

9.4 Nothing excluded

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.

10. Service availability and changes

10.1 Downtime

We aim for high availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance will be communicated where reasonably possible. HMRC availability is outside our control.

10.2 Changes to the Service

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. If we make changes that significantly reduce the Service, we will give reasonable notice where practical.

11. Cancellation

11.1 How to cancel

You can cancel your subscription at any time:

  • Mobile app: through Apple App Store or Google Play Store subscription settings
  • Web checkout, where offered: in your account settings, or by emailing support@vecti.co.uk

11.2 Effect of cancellation

When you cancel:

  • you keep access until the end of the current billing period
  • after that, you lose access to premium features
  • your data remains in your account until you delete it or we are required to remove it, subject to lawful retention requirements

11.3 Account deletion

To request account deletion, see our Data Deletion Policy. Deletion removes active product access and data that no longer needs to be kept. Some records may be retained with restricted access where lawful retention requirements apply.

12. Termination by us

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • you breach these terms
  • we are required to by law
  • your account has been inactive for a prolonged period and we have given reasonable notice

If we terminate your account, we will give you reasonable opportunity to export your data unless termination is for fraud or illegal activity.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you in the app or by email.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales.

15. Severability

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

16. Entire agreement

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, form the entire agreement between you and Vecti Tech Ltd regarding the Service.
